Often, potential donors of planned gifts are unaware of the many ways in which they can make a significant philanthropic gesture without dramatically impacting their current financial position or what they plan to leave to their future heirs. Planned gift donors benefit from being informed about planned gift opportunities.
Planned Giving Dinner/Seminars describe the benefits and methods of planned giving. These gatherings are used to inform donors about the opportunities that donors have to ensure that their assets are used effectively by recipient organizations.
- Planned giving benefits…
- Donors
- Recipient foundations and charities
- Document providers (those who establish these arrangements and agreements)
- What is the basic idea?
- Working together, area foundations are likely to accomplish more than would be possible if each pursued the same activity – in seeming competition with each other.
- A cooperative effort will enhance, not reduce, the results for each participating charity.
- A cooperative approach will be at a far lower cost than would be the case charities conducted these seminars on their own.
- This cooperative approach develops individual gifts directly to your organization, not collective gifts to be parceled out from a general pool.
- Your organization keeps 100% of any donation to your group
- Who can participate?
- The foundations and charitable organizations centered in Kingman would cooperatively create a series of “Planned Giving Seminars.” Participating foundations must:
- Have 501(c)(3) status (or similar charity classification)
- Have a Kingman presence.
- What happens at the Dinner/Seminars?
- Dinner/Seminar in the Mohave Room of the Kingman Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, March 27, 2012
- Presentation by a planned giving expert
- Session describes methods of making planned gifts
- Participants receive program book containing a full page description of your charity
- Participants receive a brochure bag with one brochure from your organization
- What does it cost our Charity?
- Only a small portion of the $15,000 it costs to stage the dinner/seminars
- Charities send announcements about the dinner/seminar to your mailing list
- Pay a one-year participation fee based on registration form chart
